The Amateur Radio Emergency
Service of Brevard, Inc. , aka, Brevard
County ARES® Team (BCAT) is a State
of Florida Non-Profit, 501(c)3 Corporation
which consists of licensed amateurs who
have voluntarily registered their
qualifications and equipment for
communications duty in the public service
when disaster strikes. Every licensed
amateur, regardless of membership in
ARRL or any other local or national
organization, are eligible for membership
in ARES®. The only qualification, other
than possession of an Amateur Radio
license and a sincere desire to serve.
Because ARES® is an amateur radio
service, only licensed amateur radio
operators (Technician Class or higher) are
eligible for membership.
The possession of emergency-powered equipment is desirable, but is not a
requirement for membership. Although this is the serious side of the hobby, our
members enjoy the work we do for our served agencies. To join, just complete the  the
membership packet application.

Amateur Radio Emergency Service, ARES®, is a program of the American Radio
Relay League, and that entity will abide by the Rules and Regulations of the ARRL's
Field Organization, as they may be amended from time to time, and by American
Radio Relay League, ARRL, policies, rules, and guidelines contained in ARRL
